The remedial teacher identifies the needs and abilities of students with a learning disability to enable them to succeed, primarily in English or mathematics.
They will help the children to organize themselves, to set up work methods and will advise them on practical tools to facilitate their daily life.


I have a SOCIAL ADJUSTMENT disorder
Consult with a BEHAVIORAL THERAPIST
The behavioral therapist assesses the student's functioning and helps them develop strategies to improve their ability to adapt to the school environment.
They advise parents and caregivers, help them to create the right conditions for the student's optimal adaptation, development of adaptive capacities and autonomy.
I have a MOTOR disorder
Consult with an OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST
The occupational therapist evaluates the development of gross and fine motor skills, sensory integration and perceptual-cognitive skills.
They aim to develop, restore or maintain the students' abilities, to compensate for their difficulties and to adapt their environment to promote autonomy and facilitate their school progress.


I have a LANGUAGE and COMMUNICATION disorder
Consult with a SPEECH THERAPIST
The speech therapist evaluates and treats children who have language, communication, speech, or voice difficulties.
They aim to develop, restore or maintain the persons ability to communicate and thus promote their autonomy and integration in all areas of their life, including their school life.
I have a VISUAL disorder
Consult with an ORTHOPTIST*
The orthoptist detects, analyzes and treats visual disorders, whether they are of motor, sensory or functional origin. They also evaluate visual capacities and carry out exploratory examinations. They perform and propose a re-education/rehabilitation specific to each patient.

There are psychologists who specialize in the school environment: they contribute to the improvement of teaching and learning by taking into account the social and behavioral factors of human development, as well as knowledge, motivation, social interaction and communication.

The neuropediatrician or pediatric neurologist evaluates, diagnoses and treats acute and chronic neurological disorders in children.
This includes developmental disorders affecting motor skills, language, autism spectrum disorders, school learning disorders, etc.

Consult with a NEUROPSYCHOLOGIST
The neuropsychologist is an expert on the relationship between the brain and behavior, whether the brain is functioning normally, or if it has been affected by a medical or psychiatric issue.
Their work focuses on the evaluation of neuropsychological disorders, particularly through psychometric testing.
