THE ONLY STANDARD IS DIVERSITY

Neurodiversity covers a very broad spectrum: characteristics and intensity are different for everyone!
That’s what makes each one of us UNIQUE!
I am neurodivergent. What does it mean?
It means that my neurological responses are different from what is generally considered to be ‘normal’, i.e., the neurological functioning of the ‘majority of people’.
Nothing more, nothing less.
Is it common to be neurodivergent?
Neurodiversity is relatively common, more than we think.
It impacts approximately one in four people.
Does being different mean being deficient?
Alternative, atypical, or extraordinary neurological functionings are not necessarily deficiencies.
They are simply out of the ordinary… that’s all.
To be different is… to be different, not to be deficient.
Neurodiversity is …
INTELLIGENCE IN ALL ITS FORMS!
Different neurological behaviours are described on our website by cartoon characters we’ve named: THE ‘AS’ or ‘ACES’
GIFTEDNESS
They say I’m super talented, but that doesn’t mean I get good grades.
Sometimes I’m bored.
I am often on a different pace than my friends and, at times, it is difficult to get along.
And I ask myself so many questions that it worries me a lot, especially since I am very sensitive.
Name: ASGIF
MY SPECIFICITY: GIFTEDNESS
ADHD
I often seem to be ‘on the moon’. People say that I am sassy. In truth I am very emotional. I get tired quickly because remaining focused is very difficult for me. So sometimes I get very agitated, ask a thousand questions and annoy others. It’s just hard for me to stay focused.
Name: ASYON
MY SPECIFICITY: ADD/H – ATTENTION DEFICIT DISORDER with or without HYPERACTIVITY
AUTISM SPECTRUM DISORDER
I’m really bad at understanding social relationships. I live in my own ‘bubble’ and don’t like to leave it, or let others come in.
I understand super complicated things but I don’t get jokes.
Sometimes I make movements or say the same thing over and over. I hate change.
Name: ASPEN
MY SPECIFICITY: AUTISM SPECTRUM DISORDER – ASPERGER Syndrome
INTELLECTUAL DEVELOPMENT DISORDER
I need to have concrete explanations because I really struggle with concepts. If people believe in me, I can progress. I like to have things taught to me many times and slowly, it helps me assimilate them because I have a good memory. I do not always see any danger because I’m naive.
Name: ASLYTE
MY SPECIFICITY: INTELLECTUAL DEVELOPMENT DISORDER
DYSPRAXIA
I have trouble coordinating my movements and people often think I’m being clumsy on purpose. It’s just my brain that doesn’t always give me the right information, and because of that, I find it difficult to write and draw. This is why I often take the wrong path.
Name: ASTRAX
MY SPECIFICITY: DYSPRAXIA
DYSPHASIA
I often mix up words and I have a really hard time with abstract words. That explain why I often don’t understand poems. Basically, I find it difficult to express myself and understand others. It’s like I’m from another country and do not speak the same language!!!
Name: ASONO
MY SPECIFICITY: DYSPHASIA
SENSORY DISORDERS
Some sounds, bright lights, smells and touch can disturb me. It’s really hard for me to deal with all these stimuli all day long, because they give me a headache, tire me out quickly, prevent me from concentrating and sometimes even make me get really angry!
Name: ASKOY
MY SPECIFICITY: SENSORY DISORDERS
NEUROTYPICAL

I am a child like many others. Sometimes I immediately understand everything but sometimes I don’t. I can be very clumsy and cannot find my way. When I am tired, I don’t like noise and I don’t want to see other people. At times, I get really angry and explode. But most of the time, I am none of the above, I am just a child!
Name: ASQUARE
MY SPECIFICITY: NEUROTYPICAL
