EDUCATING WITH KINDNESS AND FIRMNESS

We will give you some tools related to Positive Discipline which can help you in your daily life.

Positive Discipline has a special place in the positive parenting movement.
In fact, this educational pedagogy is based on

Kindness     AND       Firmness

It is an approach that is

neither permissive nor punitive

but which will allow the child to develop

self-discipline, a sense of responsibilityindependence and respect.

FIRMNESS

It is respecting

the structure,

oneself,

and the situation.

Not everything should be permitted !

Parents and educators should establish rules (and routines) that will allow the child to develop, and grow in a secure environment.

Children need structure in order to develop to grow up in a safe environment, to become responsible, to be respectful…

KINDNESS

It is respect for the child’s world.

By kindness, we mean respect, empathy, and connection.

Kindness does not mean giving in to a child demands, protecting them from all frustrations or disappointments, nor listening to them endlessly.

Being respectful of the child’s world means showing them that we have confidence in them, encouraging them, allowing them to feel capable, teaching them to respond appropriately to frustration, validating their emotions.

One does not go without the other!
