Neurosensory tools (1) - for whom? what for?

Some children find it hard to stay CONCENTRATED, while others have an irrepressible need to GIGGLE.
Some children feel assaulted by sensory STIMULATIONS, others need them to function.
Some children find it hard to DISCRIMINATE among the quantity of sensory information, while others become ANXIOUS when it comes to managing their time.
The neurosensory material does not replace a consultation with a health professional or specialized therapist, but it can provide INVALUABLE HELP for everyone.
Neurosensory material is a set of TOOLS or EQUIPMENT designed to meet students’ SENSORY NEEDS. It aims to create an inclusive classroom environment, providing young people with adapted sensory experiences, supporting the REGULATION of sensory responses, improving sensory DISCRIMINATION skills and promoting students’SENSORI-MOTEUR development.
Sensory modulation
The SENSORY MODULATION category concerns tools and resources that help regulate children’s sensory responses by modulating or adjusting their sensitivity to sensory stimuli. These tools are designed to help children manage sensory sensations that may be too intense or overwhelming, or on the contrary, that can be attenuated.
This category includes proprioception and concentration
EXAMPLES: weighted cushions, weighted blankets, sensory tunnels, adjustable lighting, soundproofing headphones, dynamic seating cushions and breathing and relaxation techniques.

Sensory discrimination
The SENSORY DISCRIMINATION category concerne tools and resources which help children to improve their ability to distinguish, recognize and interpret different sensory information from their environment. These tools are designed to refine sensory perception skills and develop sensation discrimination.
This category includes visual, auditory and tactile perception.
EXAMPLES: sensory sorting games, tactile perception boxes, visual correspondence games, auditory sorting activities, olfactory discrimination activities, taste discrimination activities, reading rules, listening cone.
Sensori-motor
The SENSORI-MOTRICITY category concerns tools and resources that promote integration between sensory and motor systems, strengthening the connections between sensory perception and body movement. These tools are designed to help children develop motor coordination, balance, body awareness and movement synchronization.
This category includes comprend notamment la FINE MOTOR SKILLS, GLOBAL MOTRICITY and POSTURE
EXAMPLES: motor courses, therapy balls, trampolines, swings, balance and coordination activities, ergonomic pens, pen tips, etc.

Time management
The TIME MANAGEMENT category aims to help students understand and manage time effectively. These tools provide visual cues and structures to help organize daily activities, plan tasks and promote transition between different activities.
