Using different colours, you can prepare cards based on the nature of the word (noun, verb, article, …), the punctuation, the type of sentence (declaratory, questioning, …), and also to differentiate singular from plural, etc
When the child has to learn the function of words and sentence construction, you can use white cards on which you would write with agreed upon different colours pens, for example, green for verbs, red for subjects,…
At the beginning, you would create the cards, but gradually your children can take this over.
TIPS
Cards can be used for so many different things: learning the days of the week, the months, the seasons,… preparing for an exam, etc. A card system is applicable for any age group.
